Even while the U.S. economy expands, politicians are using fear to gain an advantage. Americans are now concerned about losing their jobs due to AI and automation. Mix in the breakneck pace at which new AI capabilities are advancing and many people believe entire career fields will be obsolete within just a few years.
These politicians are ignoring one simple factor that makes their arguments collapse: the ability of time to iron things out. Historical precedent and an honest evaluation of how work evolves should quell concerns. Pushing back our fears will enable us to truly understand what AI can offer humanity.
